May there be PEACE within your walls and security within your citadels - Psalm 122:7

God promises us peace within our boundaries.   When God talks about peace He talks about His divine peace that surpasses all understanding.

This is also evidenced in the words of our Lord Jesus Christ in John 14:27 - My peace I give to you?

Isaiah 53:5 - He was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and His wounds heal us.

The peace that our Lord Jesus Christ has given us to enjoy did not come freely. It cost our dear Lord everything. He paid the price for the peace we have today in Him.

Peace with God.

Isaiah 53:6 - The Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all

Hebrews 4:15 says the Lord Jesus Christ was without sin. He never deserved such a gruesome death. He was tortured and abused physically and mentally. Matthew 27:28-31 gives a description of the Lord?s suffering. He was spit upon, mocked, humiliated. A crown of thorns was placed on His head and He was beaten repeatedly. He suffered shame. It was our sins that brought Him such an agonizing death on the cross. We were alienated from God and were enemies to Him (Colossians 1: 21). Yet He loved us so much that He took up our sins on Himself and also allowed Himself to be punished in our stead. It is because our Lord Jesus Christ was punished for us we have perfect peace with God. We have been reconciled to God (Colossians 1: 20, 22).

I Peter 2:24 ? by his wounds you have been healed

Sickness came into the world as a consequence of sin. Sickness is not a blessing. Sickness is a curse. In the year 1997 my father died after battling with cancer for 10 months. We gave him the best treatment available, alas the undesirable happened. In the year 1998 my loving mother died after being treated for cancer for six months. Again, we had spared no treatment for her. Oh! The sorrow, the pain and the anguish of heart one goes through when a loved one is sick is inexplicable. The future of the children becomes bleak when the man of the house, the breadwinner of the family falls ill. Many mothers are not able to fulfill their duties towards their children because of their diseased condition. The joy of many a family has been ruined because of sickness and disease. Why did the Lord Jesus Christ bear the stripes on His body? Why did He subject His body to be broken? He bore the stripes on His body and He subjected His body to be broken so that we might have a healed body, a healthy body.

Matthew 8:16 ? He drove out the spirits and healed all the sick. The LORD JESUS CHRIST who had compassion and healed the sick 2000 years ago is still alive today. Even today He heals all the sick who come to him. He is the same Lord yesterday, today and forever. The Lord Jesus Christ is moved with compassion every time the sick approach Him (Matthew14: 14). He is ever willing to heal and set free everyone who comes to him. It is the Lord?s will for His people to be healed. It is his will that we live healthy.

Zechariah 2: 5 ? I myself will be a wall of fire around it?

In a city called Jaffna in SriLanka there lived a Postmaster. He was a man who feared God greatly. Every morning he and his family woke up early and worshipped the Lord with great exuberance and joy. Some of his neighbours found this very annoying and wanted to put an end to their singing and praising God aloud. Therefore they approached a witchdoctor for help. He took the money he desired and sent the strongest devil he had with him to kill the postmaster. Within a few hours that devil came back, the witchdoctor was amazed and asked the devil what happened. The devil replied saying that there was a fire burning around that house and it was not able to penetrate into that atmosphere. The witchdoctor failed trying to persuade the devil to take up the assignment. Therefore, he assumed that the man in the house should be a greater witchdoctor than him. So, he set out to find the man and finally met with the postmaster and pleaded with him to teach him the secrets of being a master witchdoctor. The postmaster couldn?t understand a single word and finally the witchdoctor narrated the whole incident. The postmaster laughed and said, ?I?m just an ordinary postmaster. There?s only one thing my family and I know and that is to worship the Lord with all our hearts. We never start a day without seeking the Lord as a family in prayer. This is the Lord?s protection on our lives.? Truly the Lord protects us His children as the apple of His eye. No evil shall befall us since the Lord is our protection.

2Corinthians 8: 9 ?For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.

The Lord Jesus Christ is the son of the living God. He is the king of kings, the Lord of Lords. Psalm 24: 1 ? The earth is the Lord?s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it. Everything belongs to Him, yet he became worse than a pauper, worse than a beggar on the cross. He hung on the cross, naked and forsaken by everyone. Poverty is a curse. Poverty has destroyed the peace of many lives. Jesus Christ took the poverty that destroys the peace of families and provides us with His riches. Psalm112: 1,3 ? Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who finds great delight in His commands? wealth and riches are in His house? It is the Lord?s desire to prosper every one of His children. The secret to prospering in life is to fear God, walk in His ways. Many seek after the blessings earnestly but find it eluding them always. Proverbs 10: 22 ? The blessing of the Lord brings wealth, and he adds no trouble to it. As you seek God earnestly, when you esteem your relationship and fellowship with the Lord above everything else, the blessings begin to follow. Therefore let us pursue God with a renewed thirst and heart and certainly we will see great things.

May the good Lord bless you and your dear ones with his divine peace according to Psalm 122:7 - May there be PEACE within your walls and security within your citadels
